She does not had sex in 6 years so not a std is very sick
If STI's are not a possibility, then in all likelihood she has Shingles from childhood chicken pox (the symptoms are a perfect match). It has to be treated as it does not always go away very quickly. Being a Virus they may have anti virals now that help treat shingles.
