I take prescription Oxycontin. I ran out early this month. I have to take a urine test tomorrow to show I have Oxycontin in my system. If I take Percocet 30 will it appear that I have Oxycontin in my system or will it show I have Percocet? I have to make sure I pass my drug screening tomorrow or I will not get another prescription for Oxycontin and I need Oxy to function without daily pain. Any info is greatly appreciated!
Percocet contains the opiate oxycodone and oxycontin is also the opiate oxycodone. Doubt they will know the difference unless they detect the acetaminophen which you can always say you took some along with the oxycontin if they question you. I'm no drug screen expert, but I think you'll be ok to do this.
I just had the same problem. I've had to take the meds for 4 years now for several spinal conditions. When I tell the Dr. that the meds aren't working as well, he ignores me and treats me like I'm some sort of junkie despite the MRIs and medical history. I'm told I shouldn't be in so much pain bc of my age and weight!!! I have lost the ability to work, travel, or lead any kind of normal life. I won't get my results for a few days. What ended up happening on your test?
I accidentally tossed my full bottle of Avinza 60mg in the trash a couple years ago. I immediately called my doctor, and they said they would get back to me. They wanted me to file a police report, but when I went to the Sheriffs department, they just asked me if there was any evidence of a break in, and of course there wasn't. I don't know if they believed me or thought I was selling it, but they said there was nothing to report.
Later that day I got a call from my doctor and they told to come in (it's about a 45 minute drive one way) and they would give me a script. They gave me MS Contin 60mg, and I've stayed with it as it is only $10.00 with my insurance from work.
Now I've run into the same problem as so many of us... the medication just isn't working. When I asked my doctor about this he would not increase the dose of 60mg twice a day, and instead had me switch to Opana ER. It didn't work well at all and was expensive, so I went back to the MS Contin. My doctor told me that is the highest dose he prescribes, and also mentioned my weight and size. He also does not prescribe oxycontin, which I've never had.
I have so much pain in so many areas of my body from so many different issues. I do get epidural and facet joint injections a few times a year, and did try the radiopathy (not sure if thats quite right) in my back and neck, and trigger points at my monthly appts, but nothing is really working very well. I take gabapentin 300mg three times a day for IC and other nerve issues, and have soma 350mg three times a day as needed. But I HURT so much, and I work fulltime and generally crash on the weekends. This is not a pleasant way to live.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get an increase in pain meds, as I know I've developed a tolerance after at least three years at this dose. Any ideas would be welcome!!
