... condition turned into mono. followed rest anf fluids. now it has been nearly 6 months and her condition has gotten so bad she sleeps all the time and has no appetite. We have taken her to many dr's with no good results, we need help were feeling like she is slipping away. Help oh also her white blood cells are low, her body is sore and she can;t open her eyes she squints and holds her head tilted back
Once the fever appears, it often lasts for a week or two. If there are no complications, the major symptoms usually last for 2 to 4 weeks, and then gradually resolve. Some continue to have fatigue for months or even years after the infection. A long list of possible complications can lengthen mono. Fatigue 6 months after the infection tells me that something else is going on.
*Just FYI-Group A streptococci bacteria cannot cause Mononucleosis.
