Yes, they can burn quite a bit but only at first. When you put the oval in, you should be lying down and stay lying down for the night. So it has to be the last thing you do before falling asleep at night. That way you don't have it coming out. Once it's well inside your vagina, it can't burn so much because you don't have the nerve endings to feel it. So get it way inside and don't get up.
