... lot. Today it itches a lot and since I have been scratching it's sore and red. How long is this supposed to take to work or should I just buy Monistat 3 and use that today?
I would suggest you see a gynecologist and get diagnosed first. It may be that it is not yeast infection. If it is not yeast, Monistat wont work. Monistat can take up to a week to fully work but most people begin having reduced symptoms in 1-2 days. Many vaginal infections have similar symptoms but it is critical to know whether it is bacteria or a fungus for proper treatment and only a Dr can do that. DONT SCRATCH!!! Apply cold compresses, (rinse a washcloth in cold water and apply to your genitals or take a cool hip bath by filling the tub with 3-4 inches of water allowing the water to flow in and out and circulate throughout the tub. This will help with the itching but resist the temptation to scratch. Your nails harbor lots of bacteria and you dont want infected scratch marks to boot! See a gynecologist. It sounds like your infection is more than what an OTC treatment can treat.
