My mom was suffered cough with ACEI(Ramipri).It was prescribed for ? cardiac remodeling after myocardial infarct.She was suffered anterior myocardial infarct last 13th December,2015.Now,1st Janauary.At first,she had dry cough.Now,some sputum is seen.? Secondary bacterial infection.Today,some blood is seen in her sputum.She had a very bad cough.So.I would like to know,can she take ARB (Telmisertan)instead of ACEI( Ramipril) How about dosage? Now.she is taking ramipril 2.5 mg.If it is possible,? mg of Telmisertan.Sayar,I am a doctor.please. give me advice.I am looking forward your kind advice.
Doc; go to the top and in the gray search bar you can type in both drugs and see what your mom needs but the Ramipril is an ace in his but if she is coughing up blood and such it is best to take her back to the hospital and have her double checked she does not need a bad chest infection now. And the telmisartan is more than likely not enough to do what you would want it to do most people on it are also taking some other type of blood pressure pill But from what you have said I really feel she should be taken back to the hospital and rechecked.
