Missing a week of birth control?

- birth control, birth control pills, pill
Hi so I'm away on vacation for a bit more than a month. I brought with me my one pack of birth control pills (stupidly I assumed it would be enough until I come back) and I realized that in fact I'll be a couple of days short. I won't be having any sex while I'm away but I know that there is a chance I will be when I come back home. Is it wiser to just skip a week now (I've only taken the first pill of the new pack) and then try to get back on track or should I just use it regularly and get a new pack when I'm back?
Thanks, hope that question made sense.
I agree, I think you should skip a week now and get back on track. Better yet, to prolong this pack of pills, you can just start taking them 7 days before you get back. The pill is effective after taking them for at least 7 days if it is your first pack (which it would technically be if you are missing more than a day or so).
