I've been taking Tri-Sprintec for about four months now, my boyfriend and I do not use condoms because They cause me a lot of irritation. He and I had sex on Friday night and I realized Saturday morning that I have not taken my Friday pill. So I doubled up and I also took Plan B for my peace of mind. My question is, do I need to use back up protection for the next few days/week? Or is it like I never missed because I doubled up the next day?
You do not need back up for one pill missed and you most certainly do not need plan B. It isn't extra protection. When you are on the pill you don't ovulate. All plan B does is delay ovulation. There is hardly ever a reason when you are on birth control, that you need plan B. All you do is waste money and give yourself a pile of hormones you didn't need.
You did what you are supposed to when you miss a pill, you are protected. Its if you miss 2 or more in a row that you need back up.
