mg was put on mirtazapine while in the hospital on April 19 2025. I was on it for 18 days straight. It made me feel worse, not better. I decided to wean myself off of it, taking it every other day until May 24 2025. I am having some serious side effects. Should I go to the ER? Thank you!

Hi, Garnet! Probably not but it would depend on what kind of "side effects" you are having. Maybe the every other day taper was too fast? It's not at all unusual to feel worse for a couple of weeks after starting the medication but it's rarely severe. Same with withdrawals although you were on a fairly low dose. Keep in mind too that at least a small amount of the drug will remain in your system for up to nine days.
If in doubt you should go if for no other reason than for your peace of mind.
