Has anyone had any experience with this drug. How long does it take to kick in. Does it help with Anxiety Disorder?
It can take 2 weeks or more to start working. Mirtazapine (Remeron) is suppose to be faster acting then some other antidepressants that address anxiety.
It is known for weight gain and messing with your glucose levels. There may be other meds that have less side effects then Mirtazapine that address anxiety.
Best to talk to your doctor about your options.
Hope you find what works best for you :)
I have to agree with Jamie; You said something about I will take it tonight, you want to continue with it until the doctor says different this is a medication you don't just stop. Also Valon: For symptoms of anxiety or sleep many people say it works pretty fast because of the sedative effect well help you sleep normally within a day or two. And the kind of after effect can lower your anxiety a bit faster. And as Janie said those side effects are known to happen with this medication but as the doctor adjust the dose or continues you on this those normally let up as well as a headache. But if you have been on it for 2 weeks now it might be a good Idea to check with the doctor the first of the week at least put a call into the doctor or the nurse. good luck Chuck1957
