First 2 weeks after replacement I had steady bleeding plus the worst cramps I've ever had, actually felt close to labor. As soon as pain meds wore of the cramps came back... I hardly slept because the pain would wake me. Then came the sharp pains, my comparison is to having barbed wire in your tubes, agonizing!!! I visited my gyn... burst ovarian cyst that caused internal bleeding. Constant discomfort, can't workout, can't wear my regular clothes. Doc said the blood in my belly would reabsorb over time, but how long will this take? What steps can I take yo speed things up?
Flymom; Sorry but there really is no one answer for this problems but its good that you got in and had it checked. If it has been longer than a few weeks you could call them again and let them know that you are still having problems. But I can tell you on many women sometimes it can take 1 to 3 months to get back to normal. And as you know some woman do have periods off and on with this product so don't be surprised if there is more than what the body can absorb you may see some red/brown blood like a period and on the thick side they really don't know why this happens on the second or third replacement but we have seen it fairly often. And I know the way you feel sex is not an option right now just know this well go away and be just as good as the last one. But of the woman I have heard from with this problem, it can be 2 to 4 weeks before the new one feels like what the old one did. I wish I could tell you more. But if it is just too much call the office and asks them and if it's going to be too long ask what alternatives there are. but hopefully, I have heard many people just say they woke up and it was back to normal. Good luck to you Chuck1957 don't hesitate to pester the doctor for why this might happen if it has been 3 weeks or so. but you well be just fine anytime now.
