Another possibility is an ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy taking place inside the fallopian tube rather than the uterus). The chance for ectopic pregnancy is elevated in women using IUD's and any time you have pain on one side like this, you need to be checked out by your gynecologist. If the tube ruptures, it can be a medical emergency so dont wait to be seen.
