Is it normal? is it not positioned correctly? Have other male partners experienced this particular issue?
You may just be feeling the threads that extend down and out of the cervix that are there for removal. Some Drs may cut them too long or a very large male may be able to feel them. Another possibility is that the device has become dislodged. If you place a finger or two into the vagina and feel up towards the cervix you should feel only the threads extending beyond the cervix (be careful NOT to pull or tug on them at all). If you feel more than that, then the device has become dislodged and she needs to see her gynecologist right away because a dislodged device doesnt provide birth control and there is a possibility for pregnancy. If you feel only the threads, it may be possible that they are too long and they might be able to shorten them at the gynecologists office.
