I was two days constipated when I started MiraLax. I am now starting my fourth day on MiraLax with no luck
I have had constipation lately and have tried just about every OTC on the shelves, even Magnesiun Citrate.. I have had more luck with Milk of Magnesium, taking double the recommeded amount. There are some new prescription meds out for IBSC, Irritable Bowel Syndrome with constipation that I have tried, not much luck there either. Milk of Magnesium has helped.. Best of luck, ChelleKay

First off I agree with ChelleKay. Milk of magnesia not only works but it's the fastest of the OTC constipation meds.
Second, you mentioned you've been constipated for 4 days.
In case MOM doesn't work there are two other popular
OTC meds for constipation. They are Exlax or Dulcolax.
First, I would recommend trying the Exlax. It's not as harsh as Dulcolax.
I would choose one OTC medication before bed with a lite snack. Yogurt works well and helps coat the stomach too.
If you choose Dulcolax be prepared to have some stomach cramps the next morning. Where you haven't been able to go for 4 days there will definitely be some discomfort and stomach cramps until your able to have a bowel movement.
Hope your better
I know how you are feeling, not fun.:( I take Miralax daily. .Its does the trick, and I also take stool softener daily. I agree with the el-lax for these time. I use that myself when I occasionally get constipated.Hope you will be feeling better soon. Call your Doctor before your take anything. We are all different. Take care.
