It is always a good idea to check with one's physician before using any medication.

You'll want to make sure you don't have any medical contraindications. Also, if you are not sure - you'll want to ensure that the reason for your hair loss is androgenetic alopecia. Minoxidil is only FDA approved got androgenetic hair loss.
