So.. ive had tremors for about 2 years on and off, but ive also been very depressed with severe anxiety since 13, ive tried so many medications but they all make the tremors way worse, prozac worked so well but i couldnt stand the constant head shaking. It would wake me up out of my sleep sometimes it was that bad. I just want to know if ANYBODY knows something that would help? Ive tried to talk to my doctor about it but she just brushes it off.. is there anything i could do to make it look a little less like i have Parkinsons disease? Im only 20 and I haven’t finished school or got a job because of how embarrassing it is. I need help! And what kind of medication might i be able to take for my depression without the bad side effects?
First I would request a full battery of blood work.
Second have you been off of any anti depressants long enough to rule out medications could be causing this? This step albeit a rough several weeks would rule that out. and if they presist I would say it is something to do with your nervous? Your medications may have been masking another problem Because at your age certain conditions develop.
BUT before any nasty thoughts
I would suggest speaking with your pharmacist and explain this because pharmacists know far more about medications than your doctor.
I have had a very similar experience with Effexor. I developed a noticeable tremor in my hands. I lost the inability to do precise tasks like small screws, electrical work and I was very embarrassed because it looked as though I was on drugs or booze.
I asked my neurologist about it and he basically said would you wanna life happy with some shakes or unhappy without? It took a long while to disguise it but I simply started telling people the truth. Coffee lack of sleep would make things worse.
