So, Sunday last week I dropped my pill, couldn't find it, and had to skip it. A couple days later, I had my period (lasted 3-4 days) even though I wasn't on the brown pills. This week (brown pill week) I decided not to take the brown pills because I decided to just restart with my next refill, since I already had my period, I figured it was okay. I ended up having a second period anyway. Should I be worried?
Often times, when you miss a pill, you will get breakthrough bleeding and this could be anything from mild spotting to similar to regular bleeding. This is not a period, it is just your body responding to the drop in hormones from when you missed the Pill. Skipping the reminder pills doesnt always keep you from having a period. It is okay to skip the placebo pills a time or two per year but normally it is best to stick to your pill schedule no matter what. You shouldnt alter your pills no matter what your body is doing. Did you use back up protection, like condoms and spermicide (or abstaining from sex is an option too), for 7 days after you missed that pill? If you miss a pill, you should use back up protection or abstain because in missing a pill, you have the possibility of ovulating (the Pills primary job is to stop you from ovulating and missing pills, especially more than one, can cause you to ovulate) and therefore have a possibility of pregnancy occurring.
