... pills, so I haven't had my period in months. But now I have been bleeding for two weeks while on the green pills. What should I do?
You have 21 green pills don't you? , everything I'm finding says you also have 7 tan pills. But any way. If you have 21 active pills you should be allowing a week without them. This is why you're bleeding now. Your body needs to get rid of several months worth of uterine lining.
Birth control pills come in either 21 day packs or 28 day packs. If you have 21 pills, you dont have the reminder pills and you are supposed to skip a week before starting your next pack. If you have a 28 day pack, you should have inactive reminder pills usually for the 4th week (but some are a bit different). It is during this time your period comes and with a 28 day pack, you go from one pack to the next because your break is built in with the reminder pills that have no active ingredient. Like KM says, if you are only taking the green active pills without taking a break, sooner or later you will get breakthrough bleeding. This Pill looks to me as if it should come with a week of brown "reminder" pills. I'm not sure why you are not getting these if you are on Microgestin FE 1.5/30.
You ladies are not doing it wrong, I am a healthcare professional and I take it continuously, they are designed that way. After the 3 months you take a week off, your period doesn't last any longer than usual. Again you don't need to take a break after each pack, they are designed for continuous use. Your uterine wall does not "build up" Any higher than usual.
