... if I got my period two weeks before I started the brown pills, do I skip the brown pills and start a new pack?
No. Just keep taking them as they come in the pack. Do not alter this no matter what your body is doing. The only time you take pills in response to your period is when you first start them, after that, just take the pills as they come. It is not unusual to have breakthrough bleeding especially early on in the first few months, and after you may occasionally have an irregular bleed. Taking the pills as they come in the pack is the best way to regulate your cycle. If you bleed in the second week, you may not bleed during the fourth week when you are taking the brown tablets but dont worry. This is okay and you are still protected as long as you didnt miss any pills.
