My doctor prescribed me microgestin fe 1/20 birth control pills about a week ago to help with period cramps. She told me to start taking them the first day of my next period which is Saturday march 30th. She also told me to start with the brown pills not the white because those were the ones you're suppose to take on your period. I just picked up my pills & now I'm confused because the directions say something completely different than what she told me. Should I go by the directions or what my gyno said? And if you take these, how do you do it?
Your Dr is telling you to start the active pills first. The only thing I see different is they say start the first Sunday after your period starts. You're confused because she told you the inactive pills were for when you have your period. That's once you're on them. Start with ths active pills there are more of these than the inactive ones then take the inactive ones after you take all the active ones.. Its during the time that you are on these pills that you will have your period. Until your body gets used to them you may have spotting. This is totally normal just keep taking your pills
