... morning. He has diarrhea and its green. It wasnt. Is this normal?
Metronidazole is used a lot in dogs with diarrhea, especially when giardia is suspected, although none of my dogs have ever had giardia they've had diarrhea and have been on metronidazole. It appears to be a safe drug and I have never had any problems with this med in either my goldens, Shelties, or cats for that matter. As for the green diarrhea, this could be part of the infection your dog has. Did your vet mention giardia, also called "beaver fever"? (It's called this because it can be caught by drinking water contaminated by beavers, although dogs and humans can carry giardia as well.)
I hope your boy feels better within a few doses of the med. It can be so frustrating when they're sick and all we can do is wait for whatever it is to clear from their system.
