I need to know if this antibiotic can be used for any bacterial infection? I have an abscess on my arm from a bite. I can't afford to go to the hospital but I have these antibiotics from before and I don't remember what they were for. So, could you please let me know soon. Thanks
You should always complete the antibiotic prescribed for an infection or you are one of the people helping to created the superbugs that are killing other people. You should not have any Metronidazole around.
Certain antibiotics work best on certain bacteria. I can't tell you what bacteria you have infecting you right now, but I can tell you that you don't have a full course of Metronidazole on hand. So again, you would be helping contribute to the making of another superbug by taking a leftover antibiotic. Can't you go to an ER that has to accept you whether you can pay or not? They are out there. How about the County Health Dept.? An abscess from a bite can be quite serious and call for a very specific antibiotic, possibly a very powerful one. Do you have a relative that can help pay for this? I hope you get good treatment for this bite.
