So I went to the doctors and they told me I had a bacterial infection and gave me 4 pills(metronidazole 500mg) to take all in one day and said eat with food ..they didn't give me pills tell it was gone but do you guys think its going to work...
Yes, it should work. They wouldnt have given them to you if they didnt think it would work. Not all antibiotics have to be taken for days. Some work in different ways. The dose they gave you is the correct dose for a certain type of vaginal infection. Are they treating a vaginal infection? If yes, then the dose is correct. Be sure that you DO NOT drink any alcohol for 3-4 days after you take this medication. You may have unpleasant side effects such as fast heartbeats, warmth or redness under your skin, tingly feeling, nausea, and vomiting if you drink alcohol after taking metronidazole. Be sure that you use condoms during sex until this infection is cleared up. Your sex partner may need treatment as well, to keep from passing it back and forth between you.
