If the medrol does it's job and reduces the swelling, hopefully your symptoms won't return. I'm sure you're already aware that shoulders are kind of tricky things to heal, but as long as you don't aggravate the injury before it heals, you should be ok. You can treat mild irritation with ibuprofen and ice packs. But if the pain and swelling do reoccur, you may have to do another round of medrol. Or you might discuss getting a cortisone injection with your Dr. Personally, I find the injections to be more effective than the dose packs. However, too many of the injections will cause the cartilage in the joint to break down, giving you a whole new set of problems to deal with. Best of luck to you!
