I realize it has been a long time since you asked your question. Were you having a lot of pain (inflammation) when you went to the ER? The Methylprednisolone would reduce pain and swelling. Your neurologist may have wanted to do more tests that would have better results if tissues were not swollen or inflamed. Am curious to know if the neurologist gave you a reason. I hope you are feeling well now.
