I have been reading the reviews on this medication, I suffer from severe depression and nerve problems, to the point I break out, my mind constantly races about everything, I dnt believe there is anything I dnt worry about, I could sleep or just stay in bed all day if my bf would let me, and at my worse, when my mom passed away, my lips swell up! I have been on difference antidepressants and none of them have seem to fully help. So after reading the reviews I would like to know if anyone thinks this would help my situation and if so how would I go about talking to my Dr?
Ritalin (methylphenidate) is a mild stimulant. It might help some with the desire to sleep too much and maybe the racing thoughts, but I suspect you'll still need an antidepressant. What anti D's have you tried and did you try them for long enough to give them time to work (4-6wks)? Finding the right antidepressant is a trial and error ordeal, not fun, but worth the effort when you find the one that works.
I, too, worry alot. I have found talk therapy to be most helpful in controlling this behavior. It gives me the opportunity to "let it all hang out" and diminishes the ruminating.
