I have took Methotrexate nearly three months. But to my surprise, it becomes worse than worse. Lots of new psoriasis come out. It looks like so terrible. I worry much about it. So I want to know whether it's normal. Others have the same horrible suffering of me?
I've been battling psoriasis for years and have pretty much tried everything. I've been on Methotrexate for 2 months and it has made it better, but it has not gone away. It's less painful and itchy, but still there, still horrible. My doctor is going to switch to stelara injection (if my insurance will pay for it) to see if that is better. I would advise to go back to your doctor and let them know that it has gotten worse.
I also want to point out that certain things make me have a really bad flare up... like drinking alcohol. Your actually not supposed to drink while on methotrexate but when I do on occasion I pay for it for about a week to two weeks with bad flare ups. Also if I drink a lot of milk that makes me have bad flare ups as well. I only use Dove soap, nothing with perfumes or anything fancy to wash with, and good lotion... again nothing with scents or any perfume in it that may irritate it further.
Hope this helps.
