How soon can I begin to take methotrexate after a cervical fusion surgery on two levels? My surgeon said I could start it immediately but his assitant freaked out and said to wait three months. I am told that surgical fusion takes 2-3 months up to 6 months. I don't want to put my fusion at risk but I am tired of dealing with my psoriatic arthritis symptoms. I am 6 weeks out from my cervical fusion and about to begin methotrexate this week and folic acid. What is your experience with methotrexate and healing time after surgery? How long did you discontinue your methotrexate for?
