ive taken subs for over 3 yrs now, i take 16 mgs a day and i cant seem to cut back anymore .Dependency runs deep in my fam. after reading some forums i am thinking about going to methadone becouse they havent done any longterm research on suboxone , the highest they have scienifically studied i can find is 3mgs a day, at least with methadone they have long term research, can any one tell me a little more about the subz, another thing i dont like about the subz is how long it supposedly stays in your system due to how long you take it!!! Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated
I think after 3 years you will have a hard time switching. I also think Methadone stay in us just as long as Sub, or close to it. You are right that no one knows what long term Sub use will do to a person. I've been on it 7 years now. I do know I have a very high resistance to other opiates because I have needed them for pain several times since I've been on Sub. I also know that when I try to stay without any opiates at all I get bad wds. But wouldn't that come from any opiates?
Does Methadone agree with your body? It doesn't with mine. Don't you have to go to a Methadone clinic once a day to get it? So that's a drawback in my mind. I think it's a personal choice.
I was on Suboxone and I switched over to Methadone. It's a whole lot cheaper and I feel a lot better. I was even able to stop taking all my anxiety meds and sleeping pills too. I do have to go in every day, except Sunday. But after being in the program for a while they start letting you have take homes.
