I do not have the info you seek, however there is a gentleman on our site that has suffered from what I believe to be the same infection as you, let me shoot him a quick email and notify him of your question.
Just give it a little while and he may just have an answer for you!
A serious MRSA infection usually requires IV antibiotics. Doxepin is not an antibiotic but a hypnotic for sleep. You need to be very careful to treat this appropriately including disinfectanting your surroundings like clothes, bed linens and bathroom. What is the doctor who ordered the culture doing for you? You really need to be working with an infectious disease specialist. Are you on antibiotics?
Please pursue treatment with a specialist, if you can't get in with a dermatologist, then you need an infectious disease specialist. Do not let this go untreated.
I feel your pain. I went 3 yrs with MRSA after several surgeries and a compromised immune system (Crohns). I lost part of my hearing from a cyst in the ear, almost lost my eye, have scars EVERYWHERE.. I went on vancomycin and a bunch of others without success... Until I finally went to a doctor that first had me buy white towels and sheets and blankets and bleach constantly then he had me wash with hibacleanse, a anti-microbial soap available at only cvs. The thing that finally got it under control was bleach baths.. Mind you I had stopped the antibiotics at this point so I know it was due to all the hygiene changes.
When taking your bath (1 x day) just put one capful in the bath is all. It has been since 2009 that I have had my last MRSA flare so my advice has some very positive results.
