I am currently taking methadone for pain managment. I would like to hear anyone who is on this and how it is helping, or not helping..I have only been on it for three months. I am not in pain anymore except now my knees hurt in the morning. I get kinda stiff. Since I have not told the timy bit of family I have and really don't have any friends... to talk to about this and I know and I am really..so anything good or bad I would be grateful..thank you in advance... I am new to all this and I am not real up on this..When I started the pain in my back was so bad I was willing to do anything to make it stop, and so far my mood has been better because I am not in constant pain. Its like the good, the bad, and the needed.
hi kimberg42 just responding to your question re-:methadone!! i have been on methadone for sometime now and i find it very efective for my pain relief but the only problem is when you want to stop taking the methadone you need to either very slowly reduce at 2.5mgs-5.0mgs per week or have to go into a detox centre to get off as you cant just stop taking this medicine abruptly as your body goes straight into withdrawals and it's very unplesant to say the least.also you havent mentioned if you are on any other medication as these can also interact with the methadone?? reply and let me know a bit more about your medications. my suggestion would be that you try a transdermal patch or other pain releif as methadone is a very toxic drug. take care. bevck41... :)))))
