Am I getting the benefit of Metformin even though I can see it in my stool one-half day later?
Yes, the extended release tablets (at least, the osmotic ones) have a tiny hole on each side, where the medicine leaks out over time. What is left after 24 hours is an empty shell, which is shown in your bowel movement. This is VERY common. You are still getting the benefit of the medication. I can certainly understand your concern, though! Thanks for writing!!! :)
