Should metformin, glipizide and pioglitazone be given to someone with a prior heart attack?

It is vitally important that in someone with a prior heart attack their blood sugar is controlled. A high blood sugar can damage the blood vessels and all the organs. The glipizide I might question. The other two can be a problem with congestive heart failure which is not a heart attack.
