On my first visit to the dr. he prescribe me metformin twice a day, without waiting for my lab results, the rx is getting me sick; i wonder if he was correct on prescribing it to me without the labresults..to my knowlege i dont have blood glucouse
What was the reason the Dr. prescribed this med for you ? Also it is Very common to be naseaus & even to the point of vomiting as this med has that effect on you for a few weeks until your body adjust to it.
I would call & ask why they put you on this drug if you are not diabetic & they do not even have the test results back. Kathy
Metformin may be prescribed once or twice daily depending on what it is being used for. It is important that you take the medicine with a meal to reduce the nausea and other gastric side effects.
As the previous poster mentioned the side effects may subside as your body adjusts.
Continue to take the medicine with a meal as prescribed. If the side effects are intolerable then call your doctor - Meformin may not be right for you.
