I just want to let those with menopausal problems not to stop till you get a doctor that will listen. I am on a very small dose of HRT and it has not even been 3 weeks and the hot flashes are gone.
Hi, Just found this site while researching Pro-Gest. I'm on a 2mg a day Estradiol patch, and it works great. Plus, my Mom just sent me two tubes of Pro-Gest. She is in her 70s now and has the bones of a 40 year old, as she has been taking the bio-identical HRT for since her 40s. So did my grandmother. The WHI studies on HRT are skewed beyond belief, and gave false data. You can find the studies by Googling "Harvard, hormones, WHI." The doctors are woefully uneducated and I agree with another poster: Don't stop until you find what is right for you, and a doctor smart enough to "get it."
I just got results of my x-rays back, after complaining my back hurt for 5 years (my ARNP simply prescribed massive doses of NSAIDs).Turns out I have three compression fractures (T7, T8, T9), severe degenerative dis disease, osteoporosis, and mild kyphosis ("hunch-back"). If my ARNP had sent me for x-rays five years ago, or spotted that I had wedged vertebrae, I may not have had the fractures. So now I'm on the bio-identical estrogen Climara (SP?) and the bio-identical progesterone Pro-Gest - safe, safe, safe! Will not ever take Fosamax but may start Forteo. Has anyone tried either?
Thanks for listening, and glad to have found this group.
