The fda recomends that Medroxyprogesterone acetate should not be used during lactation. Detectable amounts of progestin have been identified in the milk of nursing mothers receiving progestins. No studies have been done on babies because it is not intended for paediatric use. (It is a hormone and unwarranted doses of hormones in babies can cause all sorts of unusal things ... )
