What can i take if nose is clogged and i have high blood pressure?
You need to watch out for nasal decongestants.
Nasal decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness by narrowing blood vessels and reducing swelling in the nose. This narrowing can affect other blood vessels as well, which can increase blood pressure and so are best avoided if you suffer from hypertension.
Speak with your pharmacist and ask for medicine that is safe for you to take. Some cold medications, such as Coricidin HBP, don't contain decongestants. You could try a saline nasal spray or a menthol type nasal inhaler. Try also to increase the humidity in your home by using a humidifier. Taking a shower will have a similar effect. Menthol and eucalyptus inhalation may also be of value.
