I have social anxiety and have had past depression, panic attacks, self harm and suicidal thoughts. I take Xanax as needed, but do not want to become dependent. It works extremely well for my anxiety but I only take .5 mg two or three times a week. I just gave birth a month ago and now have severe ppd. I have never had success with antidepressants (and the withdrawals were absolutely awful) and but I may need to consider something I can take more regularly. If anyone has been through this, I would so greatly appreciate any advice. My depression is very bad this time and coupled with anxiety. Thank you in advance.
My daughter took clonidine. I think that's how it's spelled. Anyway it's not habit forming or a narcotic and didn't interfere with her taking care of the baby.
There are several antidepressants that would be appropriate to try. Not sure what you have tried in the past, but the doctor would be your best resource. If the depression has been serious before and you are there again, you need assistance soon.
Hey there, I would like to open your mind to consider some alternative routes to treat your depression and anxiety. Watch your diet, try going gluten free, the floyride in water, reacts to harmful chemicals in the food you have been consuming, and turns into alkaline metal, imagine little pieces of alkali metal floating around your bloodstream turning your body into antenna, picking up negative electrical energy from wherever you are, and your body already has enough energy around it, you don't need excess energy doing things that you dont understand, causing more anxiety and increasing your depression.
The first exercise I would like you to do would be to find a nice quiet place to sit down and hyperventilate, find a nice quiet place, then after hyperventilating, you will feel calm and content, then go find a place to exercise to do some situps, (most of the misdirected energy ends up ricocheting around your chest and abdominal area) do as many as you can and then repeat that step a few times, hyperventilating, then sit ups, all the while, concentrating on these few facts while you're calm or hyper ventilating "the world is not fixed object, you can change it, it does get better, you are in the exact place you are supposed to be" "you are not in danger no one is trying to harm you the best way you can help your children and yourself is to calm yourself down and collectively think about your entire environment that you live" and "how can I make it better, my life, and the lives around me" consciously re think those thoughts. this will be an awkward time because you are hyper ventilating something that happens before you have a panic attack, remember when you were a child and became extremely scared of the unknown, definitions of anxiety. Fear of the unknown. Mother nature's oldest cure for panic attacks, hyperventilation,
And, be a vegetarian, its just good karma, going through life knowing you are doing so not harming other earthlings, is a good subconscious move for yourself, and the animals will love you for it.
Please let me know if you have any questions
I too suffered severe ppd after having a baby. I was put on Effexor XR and Abilify also something for my anxiety. These medications changed my life. Another great anti depressant is Pristiq which I had been on in the past and have recently switched back to.
