Hello pinemen and welcome to DC. I gather that you are extremely agitated and perhaps upset with how you are feeling. I can appreciate that, too. Also, if you can think about this "feeling" state for a minute... meds by themselves don't work as well as trying other behavioral modifications in conjunction with the meds. Does that make sense??? For instance, have you tried meditation in short spurts throughout your day to bring your anxiety level down or to try to keep it in check? Do you exercise at all in conjunction with your meds? Perhaps things like aquatherapy, long, slow walks to clear your head or reading an inspirational-type book? Without knowing what else you are also doing to help yourself... it is hard to say whether a med change is in order.
I will strongly urge and suggest that you do NOT self-medicate to see what works for you. I am getting the impression you are or have tried various dosings of klonopin to get yourself under control. These medications just don't work like that and you could be setting yourself up for an epic fail. I sure would talk with your doctor but please take only what is being prescribed in the dose that is recommended for you. Besides the fact that your doctor might get upset with you if you tell him/her that higher doses have no effect. I am not judging you but just repeating what you stated above. Doctors are kind of funny these days and they can come down on a patient just as hard if they think you aren't following directions.
I was just wondering what other therapies you have tried in conjunction with medication. Are you into sports, hobbies, reading, cooking and such??? These all help distract the mind from wrapping itself around the old axle... For instance, on top of the medication I take... I also walk... albeit a slow walk but walking at any pace is better than no pace at all.
I wish you well and I wish you calm, peace and joy in your world.
