I take cymbalta, Klonopin, ambien, and inderal. I spoke to my psychiatrist about these severe thoughts and awareness of my brother to the point I think it’s making me sick. Is there a medication that can help with the ruminating. Thank You
I don't know of any medication to help with this. I suffered terribly from ruminations for over 30 years and it got really bad after a long term relationship (24 yrs) ended. Between my mother, husband of 7 yrs and boyfriend of 24 yrs, I felt completely worthless. I suffered from Fibromyalgia, depression and a few others. The only thing that helped was a retraining class with a support group that taught me to believe that everyone has value and to recognise ruminations as soon as they started and stop it before it spiral got out of control. Meditation also helped. It's too much to be able to help you in this little box but look it up on the internet. There may be a support group near you. And guided meditation, where you are keeping your mind on a pleasant thought and as soon as you find it wandering, bring it right back. It takes practice but the more you do it, the better you can become and banish the junk right out of your brain. Good luck. It's been 10 years for me now and I no longer have those ugly thoughts popping into my head anymore. Anything even peaks in and I recognise it immediately and it never even fully develops into the thought. I just don't let my brain go there.
