I am currently on Lexofloxacin for Pneumonia and I have severe headaches, can I take Ibrofen 200 or can you recommend an alternative please ?
Sorry I did not see your note sooner, I hope your headache has resolved by now, but if not, NSAIDs and steroids are counter-indicated while taking levofloxacin or any other fluoroquinolone. It can cause severe adverse effects. Remember this for the future and also try to get a different class of antibiotics for any future infections. Personally, after being in so much joint pain and having possibly permanent damage to my tendons and joints, I'd rather go in every day for months for a cocktail of IV antibiotics or do home infusion rather than ever take any fluoroquinolone again. Inconvenient? Yes, but not as inconvenient as long-term or permanent pain and disability. Please look up all the antibiotics in this class and be aware they can all do this type of damage, even the eye & ear drop, altho docs will tell you they can't, I can assure you, they do.
