... insurance co's as I am relocating to another state. My question is" What is the approximate retail cost if I elect to self insure?" Thanks
Fentanyl patches are VERY expensive and usually run in the hundreds of dollars. I was on the 100mcg/hr and cash pay was $1200 on those! They are steep. If you want to continue with Fentanyl, you may want to search for a plan that will cover them. You can call around to several pharmacies to get an idea of what they will cost. You just have to give the name of the medication, the strength and quantity and they should tell you the cash price and it can differ from pharmacy to pharmacy by quite a lot in some cases. If you cannot get Fentanyl and you need to switch to another long acting drug, your best bet would be a long acting Morphine Sulfate CR (generic MSContin). The generics are reasonable compared to other long acting drugs.
