anything for pain or anxiety.what good is a doctor if he wont give you a pain pill if your in pain or need a sleeping pill? should i get another doctor?
General practioners don't generally prescribe narcotic pain meds or anxiety meds which are usually benzodiazepines. They are both controlled substances and will have to be prescribed by a pain specialist or for anxiety meds a psychiatrist. Your primary doctor can refer you to a specialists who is able to prescribe the meds you might need. Hope this helps.
