I am currently taking Zoloft 100mg but I'm still not doing well. I did well on Paxil a long time ago and I'm considering switching back. Any feedback/opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Hi, mulder! I would certainly think if you did well on Paxil it's worth trying again. No one drug is *better* than another as each person responds differently. So what is working very well for me may do nothing at all for you. It's a process of trial and error, a real PIA, but worth it when your life gets back together.
Best wishes, WCV
Sounds as though you know what's best based on your history.
give it 6 weeks before you decide. Some take longer to kick in, you might ask for anti anxiety meds to get you through, they help immensely and sounds like u need them anyway. Paxil is one of the oldest SSRIs, there have been improvements. And sometimes a med just stops working and it's time to change. (I've been doing this since off & on since the 90's.)
Hi Mulder228, I have also been on Zoloft for a few years and now my new doc wants me to switch to Paxil 20 mg without weaning off Zoloft and he says they are in the same group of medicine. Just like to ask if you have any side effects during your switch.
It depends on the person. For me Zoloft has less S/Es than Paxil. I also never had withdraw symptoms from Zoloft. If the Zoloft doesn't work then Paxil may be the answer. I'm having a hard time adjusting to 10 mg Paxil, but it had worked for you.
