The docs at Mayo thought that Lupron may help decrease the abdominal pain I have. My pain gets severely worse the week before and the week of my period. The thought is that decreasing the progesterone levels will help decrease the pain, progesterone levels are highest the week before my period. Has anyone ever heard of Lupron being used in this way? If so... any luck?
Hii there! I was put on Lupron for 6 months for help with severe lower right abdominal pain, I did have endomitriosis and had surgery but the pain persisted.A really good doctor put me on the shots for 6 months and within 2 I was feeling almost all better.I had always had bad periods, alot of pain and discomfort with sex, I was having pain all the time even if I was not menstruating, The lupron let things heal up and the worst part was the menopausal like symptoms I went thru, I had really bad night sweats and some mood swings the first month, but each consecutive month they got to where they were not happening at all.
I hope that this helps you,I know that they had a hard time diagnosing my pain,it took 3 years before they did anything but once I had the surgery and the lupron I was better.Good luck with everything, please message me if you would like any other information regarding this.take care :)
What is the cause of the pain ? I went thru six laprotomy surgeries, where I was opened up due to complex ovarian cysts. I did lupron in between and it will put you in menopause, I had to take estrogen replacement to function. I ended up with ovarian remnant syndrome and after six surgeries finally my ovaries are gone but now I suffer from severe chronic pain from the surgery. Hope things go better for you. Lupron is heavy duty so please find out what is causing the pain, It is usually used for endometrosis or ovarian cysts, or to rule out enometreosis.
