Salicylic acid is also known as aspirin and aspirin should NOT be given to children under the age of 12, because it has been linked to causing Reye's syndrome. Do NOT give aspirin or salicylic acid to a child under 12, for any reason, ask for children's Motrin or Tylenol for kids as a substitute. Patti
