i have an oncologist who is prescribing pegfilgrastim on d3 and d10 for a patient who is on a 14 day cycle. is this acceptable and where can i find evidence to back me up?
Here's a web site for you: https://www.drugs.com/mtm/pegfilgrastim.html
It says at least 24 hr after chemo and 14 days before. Now if you're on a 14 day cycle, this is a problem. My bf was also on a 14 day cycle. His chemo stopped on a sunday and he got the shot Monday afternoon, when he needed it. I've never seen it ordered as a routine order. His was given it when his blood work indicated. I know I was told it should not be repeated in a cycle.
