What is the maximum dose thresold for INSULIN LISPRO [HUMAN INJ 100 U/ML] - NDC - 00002751001 a dose alert should happen. I ordered this medication with 90000 units for a patient with 100 kg for 30 days and BID frequency, shoud a ordering person be alerted for such a high dose?
I'm somewhat confused, are you saying you ordered a total of 90000 units for someone to last them 30 days? If so that's a heck of a lot of insulin. A 10CC bottle would have 1000 units so we're talking 90 bottles. That would be 3000 units a day. Red flags should come up all over the place on that. The person filling it should be calling the dr and refusing to fill it until they talk to him. If a person is needing allot of lispro they should be using another kind of insulin with it.
