I get 6 a month but I get migraines approx 3 times a week and they run out in the first week sometimes
Diane most of the time it is not the doctor that only gives you the small amount. The pharmacy has to follow the Insurance company you belong too. I would check with your insurance company they think they can push us around. so get your phone number from your insurance company and give them a call and see if there is any way around this. You can also call your pharmacy and ask them if they know why. But be real nice they are on your side and we get just as feed up with the Insurance companies as you and the doctors do. good luck.
It's not the doctor, but usually the insurance that decides how many you can get per month. My plan allows me 9 tabs./mo. You could ask your doctor to submit a Prior Authorization with your insurance company to ask for a larger quantitiy given the # of headaches you experience per week. I've done this in the past with no issue or push back from the insurance. Good luck.
