My doctor (after I stopped taking 300mgs bupropion for three months) put me back on bupropion and upped it to 400mgs (I took 100mgs the first week, 200mgs the second week and now I'm on 300mgs until Tuesday which is when I'll start 400mgs) I'm at 5 am right now, unable to sleep, and yesterday I got four hours of sleep or so, so I'm pretty much running on no sleep. When this all settles down, how many hours of sleep will I be getting? Or am I doomed to a four hour sleep schedule?!
Bupropion is an activating med. You are on the higher end of the dosage. The side effect can last from 2 weeks to a month. I am sorry that I do not have better news for you. You can also see about the SR version if you are on the XL. You cannot maintain a healthy lifestyle on 4 hours of sleep. Talk to your doctor about maybe something to take for sleep until the WB settles in.
Insomn; Just wanted to tell you for me it was about 2 to 3 weeks before I started sleeping through the night and that was or is on 300mg extended release. So it is going to get better but we are all different and time and such can change for anyone. I'm sure you well get there soon. otherwise like Janie said to check with your doctor. Best of luck Chuck1957
